DESSO X RENS
A new take on Re-Use
Tarkett believes in the power of creativity to make functional products that contribute to our health and wellbeing. The commitment to design all our carpet tiles with circularity in mind is central to our operations.
It's our shared responsibility to use materials to their fullest and to repurpose products that had otherwise gone to waste. That's why we joined forces with Studio RENS and together we bring you a playful yet thoughtful approach to reusing discarded DESSO carpet tiles.
United in red
This brand-new DESSO X RENS collection is designed with an eye for colour and a mind for patterns. Available in three variations that invite you to plan, play and add a dash of colour to every interior.
Turning, testing, trying: the designers of Studio RENS took a playful, open-minded approach to the task of extending the life span of obsolete or rejected DESSO carpet tiles. They came up with an inventive dyeing method, recolouring one half of the tiles red.
United by a common red thread, the various textural characteristics and colours of the original carpet tiles come together perfectly.
From handmade to large scale
In 2014, Studio RENS started exploring red: the colour that expresses strong emotions, represents love and danger simultaneously, and is notoriously difficult to use in interior design.
The designers' imaginative approach and hand-made process of applying colour led to the valuable insights needed to reuse and revalue carpet tiles. Tarkett teamed up with the designers to bring this innovation to market. On a larger, industrial scale, yet with the same care and thoughtfulness.
A new lease of life
Repurposed DESSO carpet tiles from some of our most widely-used collections now come in a multitude of shades and gradients. Three sets of balanced combinations encourage you to plan and design your own floor patterns, in short: to play a colourful game in every interior.
