Calender
(Noun) A machine in which material is passed between heavy rollers bowls rotating together under mechanical or hydraulic pressure
Calendered sheet
Compact, hard and stiff layer used in Tarkett HE commercial floorings to provide mechanical resistance and spread constraints over larger surfaces. Calendered sheet is made of high recycled content
Calender
(Verb) To pass material in sheet form through a calender to modify its thickness, surface, appearance or handle

Calendaring
Method for producing polymeric, homogeneous plastic floorcovering, foils, films and cloths. The calendaring machine consists of several rollers that compresses the material between them

Colophony
Natural resin from conifer rosin. Used I varnish, linoleum, sticking plasters, etc.
Conventional pattern depth
Depth of material that can be removed from a surface without significantly affecting its appearance
Cork floorcovering
Floorcovering whose main component is agglomerated cork and whose wear layer is intended to be used with a finishing coat or coats. They may include layers of decorative cork or wood veneers
Cork linoleum
Product produced by Calandaring a homogeneous mixture of linoleum cement, granulated cork, pigment and inorganic filler into a fibrous backing. The product is then converted into its final form by an oxidative curing process.
