London Design Festival Installation to Showcase Tarkett Collection

18th September 2019

This September, London Design Festival (LDF) returns to the capital once more, with a wide range of internationally renowned designers showcasing exhibits across the city.

As part of the week-long event, Life Labyrinth, an installation by design studio Patternity will be open to the public in Westminster Cathedral piazza. The project, co-ordinated by Patternity founders Anna Murray and Grace Winteringham, demonstrates the versatility of the Tarkett iQ Optima collection, as the range is used to create the patterned labyrinth formation.

A range of homogeneous vinyl tiles, iQ Optima was chosen in striking monochrome shades, to reflect the iconic brickwork of Westminster Cathedral overlooking the installation. The geometric pattern created also mirrors the architecture of the Cathedral.

Life Labyrinth is intended as a space for reflection, where visitors can find a moment of creative contemplation in bustling central London.

The striking black and white shades of iQ Optima are contrasted with plants and gentle sounds, with visitors encouraged to share communal seating to encourage a sense of relaxation.

Open to the public throughout LDF, from 14th-22nd September, Life Labyrinth is a must-see for those attending the festival.
