Tarkett Showroom is moving in 2023

Farewell Great Sutton Street, we’ll be back in Clerkenwell in 2023!

On the 1st of December 2022, we opened the doors to our Great Sutton Street showroom for the last time to the public, but we are excited to share that we are moving to a new Clerkenwell location already in the first half of 2023 and we’re looking forward to welcoming you back.

The Tarkett showroom in London has been the central hub for architects, designers and other creatives from all over the world for the past 15 years. In this time, we have hosted some memorable events such as the annual Clerkenwell Design Week event, sustainability seminars and workshops and we are more than excited to continue our Clerkenwell presence.

Moving forward on the path to Net Zero…

Tarkett are strongly committed to sustainability and eco-friendly practices. That's why since 2020 only recyclable flooring has been installed in our showroom, in order to reduce our carbon footprint and continue our journey towards a sustainable future.

When we leave the showroom, we ensure that all the installed flooring is recycled and entered into our manufacturing processes to become new flooring. If you have ever visited our showroom in the past years, it is even possible that you will walk on fragments of our Showroom floor elsewhere, in a different space and perhaps even in a different country.

Through our commitment to take back this post-use flooring via our ReStart recycling programme, we will save 330 m2 of used Tarkett carpet tiles and LVT, which means a total of 4.82 tonnes of CO2 will be saved across our 10 recycling centres around the world!

But what does this saving really mean?

By taking back the showrooms post-use flooring through our ReStart programme, we are successfully lowering our impact on the planet by saving natural resources and cutting emissions from incineration. The choice of installing post use flooring that saves it from from landfill and incineration post-use, also contributes towards achieving Green Building certifications such as, LEED, WELL and BREEAM.

As passionate advocates of the Circular Economy, we aim to contribute towards a carbon neutral world. We also believe that through sustainable practices and innovation, we can create a future where materials are reused and recycled instead of ending up in landfills. By putting circularity and low environmental impact at the heart of the design for the new Clerkenwell showroom, the Tarkett UK team have a better opportunity to showcase our commitment to sustainability.
