The University of Copenhagen flooring project was a large, exciting opportunity, where 40,000 square meters of Tarkett linoleum flooring was installed on the Amager campus.

This mission was entrusted to Tæppeland Erhverv A/S, a flooring supplier, who worked in collaboration with the main contractor Elindco Byggefirma A/S. It can be very difficult to find a top quality and aesthetically perfect flooring for a project as big as 40,000 square meters, but they chose Tarkett's linoleum Etrusco flooring, because it meets the design, acoustic and easy maintenance requirements, necessary for a lively university environment.

Both Practical and Stylish
The goal of the project was to find a functional and visually pleasing flooring that can withstand a lot of foot traffic, but that also matches well with the rest of the university’s campus. The Tarkett Etrusco, a durable linoleum flooring, in the coulour elephant, was the perfect choice.

According to Mads Hovgaard Christiansen from Tæppeland Erhverv A/S: “There are several advantages that make a linoleum flooring the best choice for the University of Copenhagen. First and foremost, it is made from natural raw materials, making it durable, easy to work with and long-lasting. In addition, linoleum is easy to clean and stays proper for many years.”

Acoustic Linoleum Flooring
Another important feature of the Etrusco flooring is its impact sound reduction. This is very important for the university, since there are many different rooms that require low-to-no noise levels, like reading areas where students need quiet to concentrate.

Furthermore, Tarkett's linoleum flooring is particularly suitable for larger projects, thanks to its unique xf2 surface treatment, which makes the floor easy to maintain and protects against wear. It is particularly suitable for larger commercial areas, such as offices, public buildings, hotels and restaurants.

“When we develop a floor, we begin with understanding the current and future needs of the industry where the flooring will be installed. This is why, our linoleum floors are an intelligent hybrid of design and simple maintenance. The floor is durable and maintenance costs are decreased thanks to our xf2 surface treatment.” Jørgen Baden, Technical Manager at Tarkett, Denmark
