With the Red Dot Award, iD Mixonomi pushes the boundaries of design
In March 2017, Tarkett’s new iD Mixonomi collection premiered at Euroshop 2017 and in April, we were proud to announce that it won the revered “Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017”. The collection competed, in front of a jury of design experts, against 54 countries and around 5,500 products and innovations. This sought-after award is one of the world’s largest design competitions and is the international seal of quality and design.
In order to appraise the diversity in the field of design in a professional manner, the Red Dot Design Award breaks down into the three disciplines including Product Design, Communication Design and Design Concept. The Red Dot Award is organised by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen.
The independent and international jury is made up of 40 experts - including independent designers, design professors and specialist journalists. They are chosen according to strict rules meaning that the Red Dot Award: Product Design guarantees a high level of competence in the judging process.
As Art Director for Stores and Shops, Hospitality & Leisure, Florian Bougault’s words describe the best the dynamic and the spirit that inspired us with this collection.
Recognition from an organization as respected as Red Dot is confirmation to us that Tarkett is a Design Thought Leader in the flooring industry. With every new collection we launch we try to push the boundaries of design. Our iD Mixonomi collection gives architects and interior designers endless opportunities to unleash their creativity and produce unique flooring schemes.
With Mixonomi, any architect, any designer can see what authentic and colourful vinyl is. This Red Dot Award recognizes the value of this state-of-mind, where modular, raw and colourful vinyl create customized flooring. This is the very first step of the story. The story of a Red dot that met one day a multicolored hexagon.
