Sustainable collective housing
Cities continue to grow rapidly and the process of urban expansion seems undeniable and irreversible. The residential sector is central in supporting the European Union’s pledge to reach net zero status by 2050. As the building sector generate nearly 40% of annual global CO2 emissions - of those, building materials and construction (embodied carbon) are responsible for 11% - transforming the built environment from the major contributor of greenhouse gas emissions to a solution to the climate crisis is paramount and promoting building designs with low embodied energy is key.
