The specially developed DESSO carpet for the marine industry has enjoyed a worldwide reputation for several decades. This applies to both the specially designed carpets and the standard carpet collections. We not only supply a high-quality product to cruise ship and ferry companies worldwide, but we also strive to provide the very best service. For example, the majority of our recommended DESSO marine carpet solutions are approved according to international standards and bear the steering wheel mark. Our products thus comply with the international MSC 61(67) part 2 and part 5 resolutions, depending on the different applications on board.

Carpet for the marine industry

The vast majority of marine carpets supplied by Tarkett are specifically designed for this purpose. For carpet with a specially developed design, Tarkett can choose Gravure or Axminster. These solutions offer endless design possibilities.

Gravure

Gravure, our collection of custom printed carpet, offers unparalleled design possibilities. The pattern is applied to 'greige' tufted carpet using a special printing process. The paint is injected with high-pressure nozzles for maximum absorption. Result: an astonishing and extremely bright colour. In combination with DESSO's extensive range of vibrant colours, endless designs can be created.

Gravure is ideal for the public areas, corridors and cabins on board.

Axminster and Axminster Sculpt

The Axminster and Axminster Sculpt are woven carpets. This carpet is made of a high-quality wool mix (80% wool/20% polyamide), which makes the carpet very strong and durable. The difference with the Gravure is that the Axminster and Axminster Sculpt work with already coloured yarns, which are then woven into the desired design. In addition, the Axminster Sculpt has the option to create different pile heights, which can create a structured, organic depth. All these techniques give the Axminster and Axminster Sculpt an unprecedented luxurious appearance.

Standard collections of floors for cruise ship and ferry companies

There will also be areas on board where you would rather not place a carpet. We offer a number of standard collections for these areas, where you do not have to compromise on appearance and design. Contract Plus

Contract Plus is a multifunctional homogeneous vinyl floor (2.0mm thickness) that offers value for money. The classic, non-linear pattern and extensive colour collection offer great possibilities for creating modern and attractive interiors in maritime areas. Contract Plus is recommended for heavy traffic commercial and industrial use. In addition, Contract Plus offers the benefits of a PUR surface, providing enhanced protection and easier maintenance. Product is IMO part 2 and 5 certified (steering wheel sign).

Standard Plus

Like the Contract Plus, the Standard Plus is a multifunctional homogeneous vinyl floor (2.0mm thickness) with a great price-quality ratio. With its classic, soft pattern and refreshing colour collection, you can create modern and beautiful interiors in commercial areas in no time. The 30 colours (rolls) have been developed for use in all different maritime areas. The thirty colours have a contemporary look, making them all a good choice for a floor installation that will look up-to-date for years to come. In addition, Standard Plus offers the advantages of a PUR surface, which provides improved protection and easier maintenance. Product is IMO part 2 and 5 certified (steering wheel sign).

iQ Granit

The iQ Granit is an extremely durable homogeneous vinyl collection, with superior stain and abrasion resistance for all heavy traffic areas. The collection is easy to maintain and has the best life cycle costs. No polishing or waxing is necessary, a simple dry buffing is enough to restore the original appearance of this floor. Due to the classic design in an incredibly wide colour palette, this flexible vinyl floor is easy to adapt to your wishes. Granit Multisafe: the ideal choice for wet areas

In wet areas, safety is crucial for both staff and visitors. Granit Multisafe is a special floor developed for wet areas with heavy traffic, which helps prevent the risk of slipping. An embossed slip-resistant floor provides a high degree of protection for bare feet, even when the floor is covered with soap and water. Thanks to its dense, impermeable surface and well-rounded studs, Granit Multisafe is hygienic and easy to clean.
