Tarkett do the double at 20th Flooring Industry Awards

04th September 2019

On an extra-special anniversary year for the CFJ’s Flooring Industry Awards, Tarkett UK once again enjoyed great success, scooping two of the prestigious prizes.

At a ceremony hosted at London’s Hilton Park Lane of Friday 14th June, Tarkett UK, the British division of the global Tarkett Group, collected prizes for Best Use of Flooring in a Cafe/Club/Pub/Restaurant, and Best Use of Flooring in Healthcare.

For its work with Clark Contracts on the refurbishment of the BAE Systems Glasgow branch’s staff canteen, Tarkett UK collected the top prize in the Best Use of Flooring in a Cafe/Club/Pub/Restaurant prize, beating some tough competition.

The BAE Systems project featured Tarkett iQ Optima, selected because of its wide ranging colour palette in seven different shades, with the individual tiles creating an on-trend 3D geometric effect.

The back-of-house area was fitted with Tarkett Safetred Spectrum, offering a stylish but safe solution for all BAE Systems’ staff.

In addition, Tarkett UK was awarded first place in the Best Use of Flooring in Healthcare category.

Newlife Contracts selected Tarkett Safetred Wood Loose-Lay for use in the consulting rooms, corridors and waiting rooms of South Shields’ Marsden Road Health Centre. With the building in use six days a week, including late evenings, the flooring solution was required to be hard-wearing as well as looking smart and professional.

Awarding the winning trophy to Tarkett UK and Newlife Contracts, the judging panel commented that the team “overcame significant challenges with the concrete subfloors where previous solutions had been put in place but failed.”

Tarkett UK also came a close runner-up in the Best Use of Flooring in an Office, for the use of DESSO Traverse and Edges carpet products. View the winning products
